Clontarf book box Clontarf

A small wooden book-exchange box on a shared green. Adult books on the top shelf, children’s below. Take one, leave one.

It is small, cheap and easy to undo. It is here because of the method behind it: the steps can be reused by other communities.

The residents’ committee is being asked what the green needs before anything else is placed there. A short survey of residents has been written but not sent yet.

This entry is a draft. It will be rewritten with the residents once the survey is back.

How it happened

  1. 2026

  2. Autumn 2026

Survey of residents written. Not sent yet.

What helped

  • Starting with something small and cheap, so a failure costs little.

What was hard

  • Getting everyone’s view before building.

Who was involved

  • The residents’ committee
  • Humana Design, helping to write it up
